Wendy speaks to house committee on abortion bill

Slide the white circle along the timeline to 01:29:00 to hear Wendy.

"My 14-year-old daughter and I were in the overflow room for the hearing regarding House Bill 695 this morning.  I would like to thank Wendy Banister for her well-articulated and effective comments in support of this bill.  My husband is the pastor at Raleigh First Assembly and we have been honored to have Wendy address our congregation.  Thank you, Wendy, and your entire staff for the services you provide to the men, women and unborn babies of the Triangle area."

What If Abortion Clinics Do Close In North Carolina?

According to spokeswomen from Planned Parenthood, last week's legislative approval of House Bill 695* could shut down many of the remaining 15 abortion clinics in North Carolina. Their complaint seems to ignore the reality that the standards for the health and safety of women seeking abortions in North Carolina have not been reviewed in over 30 years.

If abortion clinics in NC do close their doors: We need to be the answer!
Gateway's doors are open wide to help, love and support women in crisis. We need to be here in an even more significant way for women seeking abortions and we need your help to do it.
We cannot rely on changes in the law as the sole solution to the issue of abortion. We cannot miss this opportunity to reach women on a human level and to be the hands and feet of our Lord here in this hurting world.

Now, more than ever before, the ministry needs your prayers, support, volunteer hours and financial gifts. Let us not look back at this time in our state's history and say, "Why didn't we do more?"

*HB 695 -The measure also would prohibit gender-selective abortions, block any money from the online health insurance marketplace set up under the federal Affordable Care Act from going to fund abortions, and says that abortions may not be included in county or city employee health plans.
